Diversity Education: From Reactive to Proactive

Date/Time:
10/15/2015
11:30 am - 1:30 pm

Host Location: UGA Terry School of Business

Beginning in the mid 1960’s, diversity training began as a reaction to the civil rights movement and was based on “compliance” to newly mandated EEOC standards in employment practices.  Since that time, the shift has been toward building the business case for diversity and inclusion and ensuring proactive measures are in place which links diversity education to broader organizational priorities that positively build and grow the organizational footprint.

The noted panelists and organizations were selected because they have successfully responded to external and internal challenges of diversity and inclusion and have led the way in fostering more inclusive and engaging environments through their diversity and inclusion education efforts.  The scheduled panelists for this exciting event are:

  • Nzinga Shaw, Chief Diversity Officer –  Atlanta Hawks
  • Ashley Berg Jensen, Vice President Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement –  Coca-Cola
  • Conrado Marion-Landais, Diversity & Inclusion Team Leader –  Georgia Power
